The Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve

Situated in the 'Cradle of Humankind' The Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve is a must visit destination for both local and international visitors.

The park boasts a variety of game, including tigers and wild dogs as well as twenty herbivore species.

Visitors are also able to visit the Wondercaves with are a declared World Heritage Site.

If the Southern sky is of interest then a visit to our Observatory is a must.

Wonder Caves

The Wonder cave is rated as one of the big 3 cave chambers in South Africa the other two being the Cango Caves in the Cape and the Sudwala Caves in Mpumalanga.

The cave, which is thought to be between five and 10 million years old, is situated on The Rhino and Lion Park property.

85% of the formations in the cave are still growing even though the cave was originally mined for its limestone, one of the major ingredients of cement.

Luckily mining operations were halted before all the stalagmites were destroyed.

With tours conducted on well-lit pathways and a resident bat population the Cave is well worth a visit.
