Ekudeni as a Wedding Venue

Ekudeni – the faraway place – is not that far away from either of the two capital cities in Gauteng. Located along what is known as the “wedding mile” in Muldersdrift, this venue is ideally situated between Johannesburg and Pretoria – a mere 30 minute drive from either direction.

Introduction

Ekudeni is an ideal wedding venue and well suited to all types of weddings. We are able to accommodate huge outdoor weddings on our rolling lawns and amidst our tranquil water features.

Small indoor intimate weddings in our non-denominational chapel on the property allow for the reception and ceremony to take place adjacent to each other, which is convenient for both guests and bridal party alike.

Wedding Venue Facilities

One of the best things about having your special day arranged at Ekudeni is that we do not charge for the hire of our wedding venue! We understand that the current economic situation does put constraints on couples wanting to get married and by not charging venue fees we are able to help in our own small way to make that special day come to fruition.

In addition to the free venue hire the following comes standard with any function booked and paid for at Ekudeni: crockery and cutlery, meals, venue setup and use of the non-denominational chapel.

In terms of accommodation, Ekudeni is able to offer up to 28 bedrooms, should any of your guests wish to spend the night. Our accommodation packages are set up as follows:

Modern comfortable wooden rooms (budget)
Cape Cottages, which is a family unit consisting of two bedrooms each with its own en-suite bathroom
Standard rooms ,with bath and shower combinations
Standard Plus rooms, which are bigger and only have showers
Bridal suite furnished with antiques, and with a bath and outside shower

An extra valued-added service as part of the venue hire is offering the bridal couple a FREE bed and breakfast in the bridal suite for the night of the wedding.

We have available on request a full database of any extra services that are required with regards to planning and preparing for your special wedding day from beverages to flowers, themed setup and entertainment. We are also more than willing to work with any appointed wedding planner to ensure the day runs smoothly and without any glitches.

Ekudeni is also the perfect venue for team building events, conferencing (with up to 6 venues of varying capacity), product launches, corporate functions or any other special event or occasion.

We also have our very own local tavern known as the Zonki Shebeen - an ideal venue for entertaining special guests or hosting intimate parties and year-end functions.

Great live entertainment is on offer every first Sunday of the month with artist Nicole de Wet from 13h00 to 16h30 regardless of the weather. Booking is, however, essential.
